Showing Some Kelly Love

I know somewhere in the beginning of this blog I talked about my Kelly collecting. I have been a collector of a Barbie's little sister since her inception back in '95. Kelly & friends are the cutest things. Her friends include Tommy, Tamika, Deidre, Jenny, Nia, Kerstie and more. You can find all the info on Kelly at L'il Friends of Kelly .  Mattel decided in 2011 to change Kelly to Chelsea for some made up reason. Here is a small glimpse of my collection. 

These are all classic Kelly & friends I consider my play kids. Forgive the naked kids I have to redress a few. Some of the empty spaces had doubles I pared down.












These are some of the OOAK's (one of a kind) I've collected over the years. I have many more that I've received as gifts over the years. I will have to inventory them all one day.




I've also picked up some Japanese versions of  kids. These are what they called Licca Kindergarteners

    These are sooooo cute! I see several that I have and much more that I want LOL. Those with the afro's are way too cute. Thanks for sharing. One day, I am gonna have to photograph all of my collection. Wait, you can just come over and see them LOL.

      You know that is so true. This is not even close to them all. I have about 25 more containers of Kelly & friends. I had to have my afro kids :O)

    Thanks so much for sharing your Kelly collection. I remember being envious when you went to the Kelly convention. I have my fair share, but nothing like this. They're adorable.

      Van I'll be at KK 2012 in a couple of months so you know there will be pics. This time my quads are going again :O)

      I introduced the quads back in 2010 I believe for the curious :O)

    So adorable! One of them is blue, like a little mini monster doll. Do you know if that was her original color?

      Hey Muff, she's actually green. I call her Emerald Jade :O) She is from the Wizard of Oz Witches set they had out a few years ago. I had her repainted by Loanne of Tabloach Productions

    Beautiful collection! I love your OOAKs!! I have a ton as well too, but mine are still in the box. I really like the clear containers. They appear to take up little space.

      GG Thank you :O) The Plano containers are easier for me. They hold 12 dolls and I can stack them in a corner when they aren't in use. The boxes started taking up too much space. I still have some in boxes but most are in containers.

    Such beautiful dolls. I have a few but not nearly as many as you do. I like all the different hairstyles and faces. Mattel has had great sucess with this doll. I love the cases. What a great idea. I know my dolls get a little dirty from time to time. The case would really help with that.

    Oh Anika! They're so cute! I miss those little urchins! :D I remember when I collected them, they're so much fun to play with. I love yours! Of course, I'm always tempted when I see your dolls! But I still love my big girls!

Flea Market Fun

I was talked into going to Englishtown (flea market) and boy am I glad I went. I wasn't enthusiastic at first since we were leaving  after noon which means all the good stuff is usually gone. I didn't take a ton of money but for about $20 I found some goodies I'm proud of.  My 1st find of the day I picked up the Sophie & two NFL Jerseys for $3. I love LIV bodies for body swaps. Those jerseys will come in handy for either the ladies or a couple of guys. Next find I up 3 dolls and 2 books (not pictured) for $6. Not sure which Christie's or Teresa this is. Teresa must be a ballerina (note the purple colored plastic legs). The Christie's are pretty. They came dressed as you see them. Teresa is having a slight wardrobe malfunction. I decided to answer Ms. Leo interview questions from   I Luv Dolls . Give it a try I'm interested in your answers too When did you start collecting dolls? Oddly enough I didn't start collecting dolls until my late 20's. My brothers had action figures (Star Wars, GI Joe). What was your first purchase as a collector ? My 1st purchase was Kelly Barbie's littlest sister in her crib. I guess we can say I loved the littlest one (at the time) first. How many dolls do you own? Really not sure at this point but figure I have over 300 Kelly & friends. My Fashion Royalty collection is about 130 - 150 at this point (I haven't inventoried lately). Creatable World Takeover

Has anyone noticed that Mattel's Creatable World has taken over? Well, I certainly have. So much so that I now own five of their deluxe packages that includes a doll.  They now have single doll packs, deluxe clothing packs, single clothing packs, and wigs too. The deluxe clothing packs have variations from the deluxe packages that includes a doll.  The eight deluxe doll sets Single clothing packs  Deluxe clothes pack  Deluxe clothing pack  Deluxe clothing pack  They have been spotted at Target so far. They may be at Wal-Mart too. I'm not sure.  Have you been seduced by Creatable World?
